Six Things We Accomplished in 2025

Dear Wilderness Advocates,

Thank you for supporting Adirondack Wilderness Advocates! We have been working hard to keep the Adirondack Park wild.

Six Things We’ve Accomplished in 2025

  1. Rebuilt our website to make it easier for you to get your wilderness fix (Thank you Rooted Rock Marketing!)

  2. Achieved an alliance of most major Adirondack environmental groups behind AWA's proposal to the Adirondack Park Agency to measure and protect remoteness.

  3. Coached two Rochester Institute of Technology teams focused on trail usage data and developing an internet-connected trail counter

  4. Successfully opposed changing the definition of motorized vehicle in the State Land Master Plan.

  5. Successfully supported rewilding the northern shore of Debar Pond by pressuring the state not to construct an intensive use day area and to proceed with the removal of Debar Lodge.

  6. Working to develop a proposal for how to maximize remoteness in Whitney Park.

  7. And a bonus #7! We added three new members to our Board of Directors.

How You Can Help
With a donation to AWA of any size, we can work to protect the wildness of the Adirondack Park. Your support can help us make these projects a success. We couldn’t do it without you. Be part of this community of wilderness advocates today!
